H. G. Wells (1866â1946) was an English writer known for his prolific output across many genres including science fiction, social commentary, history, and biography. He is considered one of the fathers of science fiction and wrote over fifty novels and numerous short stories. Wells was also a social critic and political thinker, nominated four times for the Nobel Prize in Literature.
