Harriet Beecher Stowe

Harriet Beecher Stowe (1811–1896) was an American author and abolitionist best known for her novel Uncle Tom's Cabin, which depicted the harsh realities of slavery and influenced anti-slavery sentiment in the United States. Over her 51-year literary career, she wrote 30 books including novels, travel memoirs, and collections of articles and letters. She was also active in social reform and public speaking.
