Adam Smith

Adam Smith (1723–1790) was a Scottish philosopher and economist, a key figure of the Scottish Enlightenment. He is best known for his pioneering works in economics and moral philosophy, particularly The Theory of Moral Sentiments (1759) and An Inquiry into the Nature and Causes of the Wealth of Nations (1776). His ideas laid the foundations of classical free-market economic theory and modern economics.
