Wilkie Collins

Wilkie Collins (1824–1889) was an English novelist and playwright, renowned as a pioneer of detective fiction and sensation novels during the Victorian era. He was a close friend and collaborator of Charles Dickens and is best known for his groundbreaking works that combined suspense, realism, and social commentary. His most famous novels include The Woman in White and The Moonstone, the latter often cited as the first modern English detective novel.
