Miguel de Cervantes

Miguel de Cervantes (1547–1616) was a Spanish novelist, poet, and playwright, widely regarded as the greatest writer in the Spanish language and one of the world's pre-eminent novelists. He is best known for his novel Don Quixote, considered the first modern novel and a foundational work of Western literature. Cervantes also wrote notable short stories, including the Novelas ejemplares (Exemplary Stories).
