Mark Twain

Mark Twain, born Samuel Clemens (1835-1910), was an American humorist, novelist, essayist, and social critic. He is best known for his adventure novels that capture American boyhood and vernacular speech, including 'The Adventures of Tom Sawyer' and 'Adventures of Huckleberry Finn.' Twain was also a riverboat pilot, journalist, and public speaker, whose works often addressed social issues with humor and satire.
