Anna Katharine Green

Anna Katharine Green (1846–1935) was an American poet and novelist, known as a pioneering writer of detective fiction in America. She wrote well-plotted, legally accurate stories and is often called "the mother of the detective novel." She published 37 books over 40 years and created the 'girl detective' character Violet Strange.
