Alfred Marshall

Alfred Marshall (1842–1924) was an English economist and a leading figure in the development of neoclassical economics. He was a professor at Cambridge University and authored the influential textbook Principles of Economics, which shaped economic thought for generations. Marshall introduced key concepts such as supply and demand curves, elasticity of demand, consumer and producer surplus, and emphasized the importance of partial equilibrium analysis.
